£35,000 Donation to Baton of Hope

At the IAS National Christmas dinner that took place on Tuesday 3rd December, Chair of the society, Daniel Harness was delighted to present Andrea Sparke from Baton of Hope with a cheque for £35,000

Daniel commented that this was only made possible by the generosity of society members and the sponsors and attendees of the IAS events throughout 2024

The IAS has been proud to support such a worth while charity and more articles will be posted here from the charity outlining how this donation will be spent

Baton of Hope is part of a growing movement aspiring to a zero-suicide society, and will simply not tolerate more than 6,000 suicide deaths per year in the UK (as currently) when most suicides are preventable.

They have a vision of a society where suicide and suicide prevention are openly and widely discussed, where they inspire hope through action, where people are suitably supported, and where everyone plays their part in realising this vision.

They will bring about change. In how they approach suicide. In how they talk about it. And in how they support those affected by it.
