At the end of 2022, I will be standing down as the Chairman of the Industrial Agents Society.
It has been a pleasure to be involved with the IAS over the last 10 years and particularly the last 2 as Chairman. The IAS is now in it’s 46th year. Having started out as small club of like minded people, we know have over 1,300 members, all active within the Industrial and Logistics Property Sector.
This year we held a sell-out conference and our Awards event moved to one of the largest hotel venues in London and welcomed over 850 attendees.
Earlier this month we held our Annual Dinner, a fantastic event, closing out another memorable year and the perfect moment to hand over the reins to the new Chairman, Daniel Harness. Dan has been a huge support to me during my time as Chairman. I’ve no doubt he and the Committee, along with the new members who join in January will continue to drive the IAS forward. I wish them every success for the future.
I arrived in London as a graduate, not knowing the market, or a single person working in the sector. My network was created out of friendships built at the IAS Thirsty Thursday events, undoubtedly helped by the generous supply of free beer. I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to give something back to the organisation that was such a help to me when I started out.
I’m excited to see where the IAS goes next and very much looking forward to now attending the events without having to write a speech in advance.
I’d like to thank everyone, who has worked with me on the Committee during my time, we’ve achieved a huge amount and had a lot of fun along the way.
I hope you have an enjoyable break over the Christmas’ period and look forward to catching up in the New Year.
Kind regards,
Gordon,
